Yellow Dot
The Yellow Dot Program is the first of its kind in the state of Alabama. It was created to assist citizens during automobile accidents when they might not be able to communicate for themselves.
The Yellow Dot Program is a cooperative effort among the Sheriff's deputies, local police officers, state troopers, emergency medical services, local fire departments and senior centers to assist our citizens when they might not be able to help themselves. Although the Yellow Dot Program is geared primarily toward senior citizens, anyone may participate.
The four items needed to enroll in the Yellow Dot Program are a photo, a completed personal information form, a Yellow Dot decal and a Yellow Dot folder. These items are available at the following sign-up locations:
- Escambia County Satellite Court House in Atmore (251-368-4779).
- Brewton Fire Department (251-867-7165).
- Poarch Fire Department (251-368-4416).
- Domestic Violence Crime Unit (251-809-0647).
A YELLOW DOT in the rear window of your vehicle will alert all first responders to the vital information in your glove compartment. This will help ensure that you receive the medical attention you need during that first "GOLDEN HOUR" after a crash or other emergency involving your vehicle.
For more information about the Yellow Dot Program, call the Escambia County Sheriff's Office at 251-809-2141 or 251-809-0647.
